God's Midwestern Gifts: or How to Prep a Southerner for the Snow

First, have Nana put on the gloves.

Next, the jacket.

Kindling the spirit of the film The Christmas Story, wrestle your toddler onto the floor and bundle her into a snow suit, hoping the whole time she'll be able to move once you stand her up.

Add snow.

Put that boy to work.

While Mamma sits inside enjoying the view and a good new book.

Thank you, Lord God, for Grandparents.

  1. Well, that's very sweet of you to be thankful to God for us Grandparents! We're equally grateful for our children and grandchildren.

  2. Adorable! Some of the best photos and videos that i have of my little man are from when we visited my in-laws last Christmas and they had several feet of snow. He was the happiest little boy in the world!

  3. ugh, multiply all that clothing by 10 and you might begin to see why I have an extreme aversion to white fluffy stuff. If only my mom would come over and stuff snowsuits and run the washer I might not require shock therapy at the mere sight of the first flakes....Kudos to the grandma in your life!
